(March 18, 2014) Mike Hutmacher | The Wichita Eagle The driver of a GMC lost control while being chased, rolled and crashed into a house in the 3100 block of West Douglas about 1:00 Tuesday morning, causing substantial damage to the house. He chased them west on Douglas before trying to cut them off west of Meridian. Wichita police Lt. Dan East said the suspect then rolled his GMC, striking a house in the 3100 block of West Douglas. The episode began at about 1 a.m. Tuesday, East said, when a 26-year-old woman helped a 22-year-old friend to her car as they left the Shamrock Lounge at 1724 W. Douglas. She put him in her car and returned to the bar to get another friend.

Two men were seriously hurt. Three young girls escaped serious injury. It happend around 11:30 a.m. Keagan Mathos saw the crash in her rear view mirror and was quick to turn around to check on everyone. The kids were all out of car seats by the time we got up here, Mathos said. All of them were already out. The three men were already on the ground in a lot of pain. I don’t think the kids are hurt, the men in the truck are very hurt.” Witness Tami Kpoiasz said, “We kind of watched over them two guys to make sure they were OK because they looked like they were hurt the most.” Two men from the SUV were severely injured and loaded into rescue squads. A third unit was called for a young boy, a passenger in the mini-van. Former director of the Nebraska Department of Corrections, Bob Houston, said his niece Laura was driving. Three other nieces and a nephew were also inside the van.

SXSW Accident: Third Person Dead, Six Still in Hospital
Two were pronounced dead at the scene of the car crash on Thursday night. A third person who was injured in the SXSW car accident on Thursday night has died, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. our editor recommends EARLIER STORY: SXSW Car Accident Leaves 2 Dead, 23 Injured Sandy Thuy Le, an Asian female, died at UMC Brackenridge Hospital, according to the Austin Police Department. A suspected drunk driver had struck Jamie Ranae West, a woman from the Austin area on a moped, and Steven Craenmehr, an Amsterdam-based MassiveMusic employee on a bicycle — both of whom were pronounced dead at the scene. Additionally, 23 were hospitalized. The driver, Rashad Charjuan Owens, is a 22-year-old black male and has been charged with capital murder. He is currently in custody at the Travis County Jail held on a bond of $3 million. Other charges will be presented at the Travis County Grand Jury at a later date. According to multiple reports, six people still remain hospitalized. More to come.

Car crashes under tractor-trailer; driver survives, speaks out
King was in the left lane and tried to merge and thats when he saw a tractor trailer in the lane. He lost control on the icy road when he tried to get over. I dont remember the impact. I just remember I was heading towards it, King said. North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers say Kings car actually went under the tractor trailer. When officials first arrived on scene they didnt think he made it. Just looking at the car this could have easily been a fatal collision, said Trooper Chris Knox. King only spent a few hours in the hospital and had to get six staples.

Death of driver in car accident in Derry means almost 50 people have been killed on the island’s roads this year

It is understood that Callum Dale from Buncrana had Aspergers syndrome and was being coaxed off the road by his parents at the time of his death. His father was injured in the incident and remains in a critical condition at Letterkenny General Hospital. County Cork A 17-year-old was killed when the car he was driving overturned on the Lisgriffen Road, at Drumdowney, North of Mallow, County Cork on Thursday 13th March. The victimwas pronounced dead at the scene.Two woman and a man in their late teens were also in the car and were uninjured but were treated at the scene for shock. Fatal Road Traffic Collision Co Laois 13th March 2014 A man was killed when his 4 x 4 vehicle collided with a pole on the Ballyfin Road near Mountrath, County Laoisaround 6.20am on 13th March. The victim was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise.
