Woman injured in one-car crash: Brunswick Hills Police Blotter

Two were pronounced dead at the scene of the car crash on Thursday night. Additionally, 23 were hospitalized. The driver, Rashad Charjuan Owens, is a 22-year-old black male and has been charged with capital murder. He is currently in custody at the Travis County Jail held on a bond of $3 million. Other charges will be presented at the Travis County Grand Jury at a later date. March 8. The driver was traveling northbound on Pearl when her SUV slid on ice, spun into the southbound lane, then into the curb before rolling down a hill, flipping twice. The truck came to rest on its side. Drunken driver, Boston Road: Police pulled over a driver traveling 49 miles per hour in the 4500 block of Boston Road at 10:30 p.m. Feb. 26. The driver smelled of alcohol and was given field sobriety tests, which he failed. The man later refused to take a breath test and was cited for speeding and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Driving under suspension, Center Road: A man was cited for driving without a valid license at 6:22 p.m. March 5 after being picked up by police following a license plate check. A pocket knife was found on the suspect during a pat-down, and a small amount of marijuana was found inside his car. He was cited for OVI and released at the Boston-Center Road Burger King restaurant at his request.

Mom-to-be Wang Zhau, and husband Mao were on their way to the hospital when the motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a truck. The vehicle crashed into their motorbike before running over the womans stomach, and causing fatal injuries to the father. Eye witnesses said that when the woman was hit by the truck she gave birth on the spot, police spokesman Chan Chien said. Others said that the baby, which was healthy 4.2 kg, had been thrown out of the womans belly and had landed three meters away. What we found out from her family is that the woman, a 40-year-old, had gone into labour at 8:30 AM and her husband, a 42-year-old man, decided to take her by motorbike to the hospital rather than waiting for an ambulance. By some grace of god the baby, named as Xiao Zhao, survived the horrific incident and is said to be doing well in the hospital. Even though he lost both his parents during the accident he is expected to survive having only suffered minor bruises. The news of the babys arrival has been widely broadcast in Chinas. Residents have reportedly come from far and wide have to bring presents and donations for the newly-orphaned child. Medic Kuan-Yin Fan said, The baby is doing well and we dont see any risk that he will not make a full recovery from the minor injuries he suffered and can probably be released to his family sometime within the next week should they agree to take him. The truck driver is being held in custody, while police continue their investigation.

Gardai said the child was three years of age, though some reports have said she was five years old. The girl was removed to Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise where she was pronounced dead.
