Car-bus Crash Left Students In Wheelchairs Hanging Upside Down

The three children, an attendant, the bus driver and the driver of the Hyundai that struck the bus were all taken to Metroplex Hospital in Killeen. The five occupants of the bus received only minor injuries, but were checked out as a precaution, a school district spokeswoman said. The accident happened at around 3:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of FM 116 and Highway 9 in Copperas Cove. The bus was northbound on FM 116 when the driver of the car, which was on Highway 9, failed to stop at the intersection, DPS Trooper Harpin Myers said. And that the car, designed and tested by Mitsubishi Motors, was not reasonably crash worthy or fit for accidents. That the vehicle failed to contain a side airbag, violated the principles of crash-worthiness and failed to provide adequate occupant protection.

Veteran fighters die in car accident

Death of teenager in car accident in Down was 50th person killed on island’s roads this year

Co Derry A man was killed when the car he was driving was involved in a crash with a lorry in County Derry on 18th March. The Police Service of Northern Ireland said the crash happened on the Broad Road between Limavady and Coleraine, around 2pm on Tuesday. A male passenger in the car was taken to hospital where he is described as stable. Co Tipperary A 28-year-old man was killed when a car hit a ditch at Rathronan, Clonmel, CoTipperaryin the early hours of Tuesday 18th March. The 20-year-old driver was taken to South Tipperary Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The passengerwas pronounced dead at the scene. A 20-year-old man was arrested on 20th March. Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been in the area between 1a.m. and 1.30a.m. on 18/3/14 to contact them in Clonmel Garda Station on 052 6177640, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
