Ashtabula: Driver Injured When Car Crashes Into Train

EDT March 23, 2014 Amtrak Crossing SHARE 5 CONNECT 1 TWEET COMMENTEMAILMORE ASHTABULA, Ohio — Ohio police say a driver was injured when his vehicle went through a railroad crossing arm and hit an Amtrak train traveling in northern Ohio. Sgt. Ron Bornino of the State Highway Patrol says 58-year-old Murphy West Jr., of Ashtabula, was taken to a hospital in Geneva and transferred to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland after the Sunday crash. A nursing supervisor at the hospital said West was in fair condition Sunday. Trooper Damion Assink said the car was heading north on Ohio Route 45 near Saybrook Township about 3 a.m. when it went through the crossing arm as the train was heading west. The township is near Ashtabula, which is about 55 miles east of Cleveland. The patrol is continuing to investigate the crash. Amtrak had no immediate details.

Two Car Accident Injures Three

March 23, 2014 – The two-car accident happened around 10:30 Sunday morning at the Bayfront Connector at Broad Street. Police say a car was driving westbound on the connector, when a van traveling east attempted to make a left hand turn onto broad street. The car and van collided, and passengers in both vehicles were trapped inside their vehicles. A hearse tool had to be used to get the people out. Morning traffic chaos: Car on fire, crashes, delays

Abu Dhabi Police tweeted about traffic congestion and delays after Seh Al Sudairh, inbound Abu Dhabi at 8.30am even as the traffic reportedly cleared out after some time. In addiiton, minor accidents were being reported on Al Ain-Abu Dhabi Road (Abu Dhabi-bound) after exit 381, as well as in Al Khail Road, near Business Bay slightly before Financial Centre Road. Earlier this morning, a minor accident was also reported in Sharjahs Al Dhaid Street just before it meets Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, with social media users tweeting that they had been stuck in a traffic jam for longer than usual.

Man charged after car crashes into house

The man has been charged with having no drivers licence and reckless driving. Geraldton police dog squad was on patrol late Friday night when the dog handler allegedly saw an orange Mitsubishi Lancer with no registration plates being driven in an erratic manner. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it is alleged it sped away. Police later spotted the vehicle in Beattie Road about 1am Saturday. A passenger exited the vehicle and was arrested after being chased by a police dog handler. Police received a call at 1.10am that a car had crashed into a house on Chapman Valley Road. Officers allege it was the same Mitsubishi Lancer they had been looking for. The vehicle allegedly mounted a kerb, struck two small trees and crashed into the brick wall of the house. The house was occupied at the time, but no one inside was injured.
